| Why MojoLion.com? This web site started as an inside joke. That’s right – an inside joke. I started it out of boredom and silliness. It kept growing as more boredom and a desire to code more pages kept me working on it. Once it was up and live, I figured why stop now? So more things keep happening and getting added to the site. Sometimes I forget about the site for a while. It’s even gone down when servers changed and I didn’t update the nameservers. It always comes back…so that’s they why. What Are Mojo Lions?  I have always loved lions, and had a few stuffed ones. One that’s been on the dash of my car for years and years, and a few that kick around my house. I was working in an outbound call center, and brought a small stuffed lion in to work to play with on my desk (back to the whole boredom thing.) I was having a crap sales day, and stuck the lion on my head while I was on the phone. The next few calls were golden. So I called the lion my “Good Mojo” which then became “Mojo Lion.”
A friend in the department was having a not so shiny day the next day, so I lent him the lion, with the instructions to wear it on his head. He did, and the sales came rolling in. He sent an email explaining the “magic” of this stuffed animal being worn on your head to the whole department, and from there, the legend grew. I brought in more lions, and then people started buying them for me. Pretty soon I had an impressive pile on my desk. While I am no longer in sales, my Mojo Lions are part of my identity here. They go missing from my desk and people know. I still lend them out to friends, as long as they are taken care of. About the Site Creator I’m a little bit nuts, evidenced by the sheer size of this site. I work on several web sites, and enjoy messing around on the web. I love the lion jokes (so cheesy) and I even made up some stories about my lions. |
